New Year: Non-Beauty Resolutions

Happy New Years everyone! I’m so grateful for all the experiences in 2014 and can't wait to see what 2015 has in store!

FullSizeRenderMost of us start each year with a New Year’s Resolution and although some of us stick to it the first few weeks or even the first few months, I think sometimes, unfortunately, we’re not able to stay committed and achieve our goals. With the new year comes another opportunity to achieve your goals. Here are my New Year’s Resolutions and how I’ll be keeping them!

1. Being more healthy. In 2014, I feel like I wasn’t as healthy as I could have been. In 2015, I’d like to focus more on my health and listen to my body. I’m going to try to sleep more and start working out regularly. I found when I had a gym membership, I got tired of doing the same thing over and over again. I have decided that I am going to start trying a variety of classes offered at my gym, in order to switch up my workouts. I’m also going to be juicing more so I get all the nutrients my body needs! I have a great juicer, so i have no excuse. 2. Be More Organized. This pertains to home life, as well as work life. I realized that the key to organization is to clean up right after you make a mess. Plus, having a clean space 3. Be Positive and Inspire Others. I’m usually quite a positive person, but I want to be even more positive in 2015. I really want to be happy and I realized that being happy isn’t about the situation you’re in but more your state-of-mind. In every situation I want to see the good rather than focus on the bad. Starting every morning with a grateful heart helps and ending the night with gratitude is another way of being grateful and happy. 4. Spend More Time with My Friends and My Family. This kind of goes back to being positive and happy, but spending time with your loved ones and having their support really makes everything better. Studies have proven that the amount of time spent with friends and family goes a long way towards boosting happiness. One of the great ways I like to spend time with my friends is to catch up over good food, working out or simply having a spontaneous girls night. 5. Read a book a month – Reading is such incredible escapism and I know many of you feel as passionately about it as I do. I have just started Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell and I know I am well on my way to finishing that – it’s a great read – so I am optimistic that I can keep this one up.
